PRECEPTOR IN PERSIAN – Harvard University

The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations seeks applications for a preceptor in Persian beginning September 2012. The position is renewable on a yearly basis for up to eight years pending enrollments and performance.  Teaching duties will include a minimum of five courses per year.

The successful applicant should be well versed on the issues of teaching Persian as a foreign language, have experience in teaching all levels of Persian language and literature, both classical and modern.  Specialization in Persian literature, linguistics and culture, or intellectual history is highly desirable.

A strong doctoral record is preferred.

A dossier including a letter of application, a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of reference, should be submitted no later than April 20, 2012, to the Harvard Employment website:
